Civil Construction WHS Manager

As the WHS Manager for our Civil Construction division, you will be responsible for proactively providing WHS advice, direction and support to our Civil Construction projects. You will undertake a hands-on approach in all activities and improve the WHS performance across the Civil Construction projects and implement and maintain a Safety Culture across the projects in line with the Office of the Federal Safety Commission Criteria.

Reporting to the Civil Construction Manager, you will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role and will have demonstrated a strong ability to engage, interact and influence effectively with all levels of management within an organisation such as ours.

To be considered for this position you will need to be able to demonstrate: -

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Civil Construction Industry
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and proven experience regarding Office of Federal Safety Commission accreditation criteria. This is an “Essential” requirement of the position
  • Sound understanding of AS/NZS 4801 accreditation criteria
  • Sound understanding of the WHS National Uniform Act and Regulations and Chain of Responsibility Legislation
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Building Code
  • Strong time management with the ability to prioritise
  • Strong communication skills in a diverse work environment
  • Understanding of MyOSH or a similar WHS Management System
  • Competent in Office 365 Applications
  • Strong investigative and research skills
  • Experience in Internal Systems Auditing
  • Proven people management skills and ability and experience to supervise a small team of WHS Officers

Qualifications: -

  • Diploma or Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Hold Nationally Recognised Construction Induction Card and;
  • Able to obtain a Police Clearance
  • Hold a Current Car Licence

Desirable: -

  • Certification in Drug and Alcohol Testing

This is not a FIFO Position
