We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Materials Manager to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify and attract new clients and additional business opportunities with overall responsibility for all raw materials produced by Ostojic Group quarries, sand plants and concrete, ensuring materials are produced to specifications and quality.


Accountabilities and Responsibilities 


  • Develop growth strategies and plans
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Increasing client base
  • Ensure that you have an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Create and write business proposals
  • Draft and review contracts
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs
  • Research business opportunities, viable income streams and identify new business opportunities
  • Assist the Company Estimator with tendering when required
  • Communicate goods or services to obtain new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts 
  • Be aware of and follow industry trends locally and interstate
  • Report on successes and areas needing improvements
  • Communicate and handover customers to the Quarry Manager and Concrete Manager on successful contracts/agreements
  • Manage and communicate clients pricing
  • Actively contribute to a positive teamwork environment 
  • Always represent the company to clients in a positive and professional manner
  • Plan, develop and implement strategies with the General Manager 
  • Liaise with other client or customer representatives to promote customer focus and the continual improvement process, to ensure they have a full understanding of the necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to keep clients and customers fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements

Required Experience and Skills:


  • A strong culture of safety leadership and a working knowledge of Safety Management Systems, relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in operating in a managerial role in a hard rock quarry.
  • Strong focus on planning/scheduling, process efficiency, continuous improvement, and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be reliable, motivated, and able to work under pressure and changing priorities.
